Rumsfeld : Contradiction King

Well, it looks like the US military has begun to realize the mess they are in has no easy solution. Currently the US forces are "fighting the most complex guerrilla war in its history."

Even though Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld doesn’t think their will be a civil uprising he did note that, to his surprise, that according to recent search’s, Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction!

But,
to add more confusion to his contradictory statements Rumsfeld also mentioned that the deposed Iraqi president "had weapons of mass destruction" but it was imperative "to remov[e] the regime before they could gather weapons of mass destruction for themselves and for terrorists." But, when asked about his views on the connection between Saddam and terrorists, Rumsfeld asserted that he hasn't "seen any strong, hard evidence that links the two." Hmm.

However, Rumsfeld did mention that while the "intelligence proved wrong" and even though he wasn’t in the "position to say...[that] the world is a lot better off with Saddam Hussein in jail." He didn't, however, mention if Iraq was "a lot better off with Saddam Hussein in jail."

What a brain teaser.
