OTTAWA — Prime Minister Paul Martin faces a bigger job of fence mending with George Bush than originally thought, with reports indicating the U.S. president was personally offended at the handling of the missile defence decision.

Martin will get his chance to soothe bruised American feelings when he goes to Waco, Tex., to meet Bush and Mexican President Vicente Fox on March 23.
